Job summary

Johnston-Willis Hospital in Richmond, VA is seeking a Therapy Department Assistant to support therapists and maintain patient schedules. The role focuses on patient care coordination, accurate documentation, and efficient operation of the therapy unit.

The position requires a high school diploma, BLS within 30 days of start, and clerical skills with intermediate computer proficiency. This role contributes to a larger hospital team delivering compassionate care in a high-volume setting.

  • Assist therapists with patient care

  • Prepares and maintains area for patient treatment.
  • Maintains department supplies and inventories
  • Demonstrates effective communication
  • Demonstrates an understanding of hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Promotes cost effective unit operations.
  • Provides support to the staff and director
  • Complies with professional, regulatory, governmental and departmental standards.
  • Maintains patient schedules based on department standards.

Job Summary and Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School graduate or equivalent required
  • American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of start date
  • Experience in a therapy area; Clerical skills; Intermediate computer skills/Proficient in use of Microsoft Office; Exposure to medical terminology preferred
