Job summary

Monroe Harding seeks a Full-Time TF-CBT Therapist to deliver trauma-focused care to foster children and their families. You’ll lead individual, group, and family sessions, coordinate with care teams, and ensure secure documentation while promoting healing and safety.

You will join a long-standing program serving youth in Tennessee, with opportunities for supervision and TF-CBT certification, while prioritizing culturally humble, family-centered practice and collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience with foster youth and families.
Licensed or license-eligible in Tennessee (LCSW, LPC-MHSP, LMFT).
Experience with underserved populations and trauma-informed modalities.

Responsibilities

Deliver TF-CBT to foster children and their caregivers (foster and birth families).
Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including progress notes and treatment plans.
Conduct comprehensive trauma assessments and treatment planning.
Facilitate trauma-informed psychoeducational groups and family support sessions.
Collaborate with case managers, Monroe Harding and DCS staff, and external providers.
Provide crisis intervention and safety planning as needed.
Offer consultation and training on TF-CBT practices.

As a Full-Time Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapist (TF-CBT Therapist), you’ll provide specialized therapeutic care to foster children, foster families, and birth families connected to Monroe Harding’s programs. You’ll be the clinician in the room when a child finally feels safe enough to tell their story—and the steady presence who helps them build the resilience to write what comes next.

This isn’t a job where healing happens behind a closed door and nowhere else. You’ll deliver structured TF-CBT sessions, lead psychoeducational groups, respond in moments of crisis, and partner with the caregivers and case teams surrounding each child, so the progress made in session carries into everyday life.

The Opportunity

TF-CBT Therapists are central to the emotional healing and stabilization of youth impacted by trauma within Monroe Harding’s Mental Health program. You’ll carry a caseload of foster children and their families, delivering individual, conjoint, and family sessions while serving as a trauma-informed resource for the broader care team. Job Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

Conduct comprehensive trauma assessments, diagnostic intakes, and treatment planning.

Qualifications

Demonstrated commitment to trauma-informed care and family-centered practice
Strong understanding of child development, attachment, and the impact of trauma
Ability to engage diverse family systems with empathy and cultural humility
Skilled in de-escalation, crisis response, and therapeutic rapport-building
Effective communicator with strong documentation and organizational skills
Flexible, collaborative, and resilient in high-pressure environments
Certified or actively pursuing certification in TF-CBT

Requirements
