Job summary

OhioGuidestone, a leading behavioral health organization, seeks a Therapist to run IOP Groups in Carroll County under supervision. The role requires a minimum of 3 days per week, 4 hours per day, delivering compassionate, evidence-based counseling.

You will build trusting relationships, coordinate care with families and partners, and maintain timely documentation and treatment plans. Flexibility and crisis coverage may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 2 years’ experience in social work or counseling.
  • CDCA certification or eligibility.

Job Summary

The Therapist works under the supervision of the Clinical Supervisor/Manager and is responsible for running IOP Groups in Carroll County. Minimum of 3 days a week, 4 hours each day.

Essential Functions
  • Deliver compassionate, evidence-based counseling and psychotherapy to individuals, families, and groups.
  • Build trusting, culturally responsive relationships that honor each client’s unique story, identity, and goals.
  • Support clients through crises with thoughtful interventions, advocacy, and connections to community resources.
  • Coordinate holistic care with families, caregivers, internal teams, and community partners.
  • Develop treatment plans, track progress, and maintain timely, accurate documentation.
  • Provide case management and therapeutic support as needed.
  • Participate actively in team meetings, supervision, and care planning.
  • Champion clients’ needs while fostering a positive, collaborative team culture.
  • Maintain required credentials and embrace flexibility, growth, and new responsibilities.
Skills & Abilities
  • Strong understanding of human behavior, motivation, mental health, and recovery.
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills with diverse individuals and communities.
  • Excellent organization, communication, judgment, and time management.
  • Comfortable navigating fast-paced environments and multiple priorities.
  • Proficient with Electronic Health Records, Microsoft Office, and related technology.
Other Requirements
  • Work environment can include an agency office, home-based or school-based setting, childcare facilities, or participant’s homes.
  • Able to provide services in an office, the community and/or client homes, which may include facilities with multiple levels.
  • Works flexible hours, which can include days, evenings, and weekends, as desired to meet the needs of clients and the OhioGuidestone and is available for crisis management by phone as needed.
  • Must have a valid Ohio Driver’s License with a safe driving record and valid insurance.
  • Ability to take and pass a physical exam and drug screen.
  • Employment is contingent upon clear results of a thorough background check.
  • Authorization to work legally in the United States.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree from relevant accredited program with 2 years’ experience in social work or counseling;
  • CDCA
