Job summary

Baptist in Kosciusko, Mississippi seeks a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate patients, develop plans of care, and deliver therapy to promote functional recovery. The role includes discharge planning, documentation, and leadership within the care team.

You may supervise students and staff, participate on hospital committees, and uphold ASHA’s Code of Ethics. Requires CCC and BLS within 14 days of hire, plus 3 years of rehab experience since licensure.

Qualifications

• 3 years of progressive rehabilitation experience since licensure.
• Certificate of Clinical Competency by American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
• SLP; BLS certification within 14 days of hire; SLP-CCC.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates and assesses the patient based on subjective and objective information.
• Develops a written plan of care.
• Provides treatment according to established goals on plan of care.
• Documents interventions/care in the patient’s medical record.
• Evaluates effectiveness of plan of care and reassesses patient’s functional status as needed.
• Provides discharge planning information including patient/family education, follow-up, and referral to community resources.
• Contributes to the development of staff and students.
• Participates in activities designed to improve health care delivery.
• Completes assigned goals.

Job Summary

Evaluates and assesses patients to establish functional, measurable goals to promote restoration of functional abilities. Provides treatment according to a written plan of care to meet established goals. Plans for discharge and communicates findings and progress according to professional licensure/certification, scope of practice and departmental/discipline policies and procedures. Produces other reports as needed. May supervise clinical students and support staff including certified/licensed assistants, technicians, and volunteers. Provides a caring relationship that facilitates health, and healing. Provides leadership support, participates on hospital committees, serves as a resource and ambassador for performance improvement to clinical and management staff. Adheres to the ASHA Code of Ethics. Performs other duties as assigned.
