Job summary

Palo Verde Behavioral Health Hospital, part of Universal Health Services, Inc. (UHS), seeks a Master’s-level Social Worker to join the inpatient team.

You will coordinate care, provide supportive services, and educate patients and families while collaborating with a multidisciplinary group to support recovery. Responsibilities include facilitating therapy, discharge planning, and linking patients to community resources to promote long-term wellness.

Qualifications

  • Masters or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Psychology, Professional Counseling or related degree.
  • Experience coordinating care in behavioral health preferred.
  • Must be CPR certified on hire and maintain certification.
  • Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card or ability to obtain.
  • Handle With Care training within 30 days of hire.

Palo Verde Behavioral Health Hospital seeks a compassionate, motivated, and Master's-level Social Worker to join our supportive Inpatient team. What You'll Do
  • As a vital member of our treatment team, you'll help guide patients through their recovery journey by providing support, coordination, advocacy, and education. Every day offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.
Your Impact Will Include:
  • Be the Connection: Collaborate with referral sources, healthcare providers, and community partners to ensure seamless patient care. Participate in daily interdisciplinary team meetings, coordinate follow-up appointments, facilitate Adult Recovery Team meetings, and support urgent patient needs.
  • Build Strong Relationships: Maintain regular communication with patients, families, and treatment professionals, ensuring everyone involved in the recovery process stays informed and supported.
  • Champion Patient Engagement: Encourage patients to actively participate in their treatment journey, including group therapy, treatment planning, and discharge planning activities.
  • Empower Recovery: Connect patients with valuable community resources and support services that promote long-term wellness and successful recovery after discharge.
  • Ensure Compliance and Quality Care: Adhere to program guidelines, treatment protocols, and HIPAA requirements while supporting the highest standards of patient confidentiality and care.
  • Advocate for Patients: Complete excellent documentation to support patients in an appropriate lengthof stay and acceptance to referral Level of Care.

Qualifications
Education

Masters or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Psychology, Professional Counseling or related degree.

Experience

Experience coordinating care, familiarity with community resources, and ability to be self-organizing. Experience in the field of Behavioral Health for at least 2 years is preferred, does not have to be obtained post-Master's

Licensure/Certification

No license is required

Minimum Requirements

Must be certified in CPR upon hire and bi-annually thereafter and must possess or obtain and be able to perform Handle With Care within 30 days of hire and re-certify as needed. Must complete all required mandatory in-services annually. Must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card or the ability to obtain. Must be tested for Tuberculosis with a PPD skin test or chest x-ray upon hire and as required thereafter.
