Job summary

Baylor Lake Pointe Medical Center in Rowlett, TX is seeking a Physical Therapist PRN to evaluate, plan, and implement treatment to maximize patient function. The role includes discharge planning and educating patients, families, and staff.

The ideal candidate has outpatient experience, is able to document thoroughly, and will supervise staff and students while advancing clinical skills through ongoing education. Outpatient focus with no weekend requirements.

Shift/Schedule: PRN Day Shift - Monday - Friday (no weekends)

Prefer candidates with outpatient experience.

Job Summary

The Physical Therapist PRN cares for patients by evaluating, planning, implementing treatment, educating, and planning discharge to maximize function.

Essential Functions Of The Role

• Evaluates, treats, and monitors patients. Modifies therapy program and goals.
• Performs thorough and concise clinical documentation in a timely manner. Enters charges accurately. Knows about reimbursement related to practice setting.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, coworkers, and the medical care team. Provides education to patients, family, and staff.
• Supervises ancillary staff, students and volunteers.
• Advances clinical skills through ongoing education, literature review and implementation of evidence-based practice.
• Imparts knowledge to develop the clinical skills of colleagues. Adheres to organizational, national and state regulatory guidelines.
• Maintains awareness of system goals. Aligns personal goals and work activities to uphold or impact the system goals.

• Must have good communication skills. Relate professionally and positively to patients, their family members, and facility staff.

Qualifications

• Education: Masters' or Bachelors plus 2 years of work experience above the minimum qualification
• Experience: Less than 1 Year of Experience
• Certification/License/Registration: Physical Therapist (PT)
• Basic Life Support (BLS): BLS or BLS within 30 days of hire or transfer.
