Job summary

Qualifications

Job description

New Employee Retention Bonus: $5,000.00 retention bonus available (in-training licensure); $10,000.00 retention bonus available (fully licensed). New Employee is defined as someone who has not been employed with Rogers for more than six months.

Schedule: Full-time 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday.

This position supports patients in the PHP/IOP level of care. The therapist leads collaboration among an interdisciplinary team to develop, coordinate, and facilitate all direct social services interventions for patients on their caseload and their support systems. The therapist uses empirically supported therapeutic techniques, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), or family therapy, to aid in stabilization and recovery of individuals with mental and behavioral health concerns. The therapist creates a safe and supportive environment where patients gain insight into the relationship between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and work toward their goals. The therapist may be responsible for other duties as directed by their manager/clinical operations supervisor to support direct patient care and system initiatives. The therapist will work in an acute care setting that includes inpatient, residential, partial hospitalization, and/or intensive outpatient services.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct individual, group, and family therapy sessions to address patients\' specific needs and goals.
  • Assess patients\' needs through comprehensive assessments to identify mental health concerns, strengths, and challenges.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and guide the implementation of clinical interventions, including facilitating treatment team meetings.
  • Provide counseling and support using evidence-based therapeutic techniques to help patients manage symptoms and improve well-being.
  • Educate patients about their mental health and/or substance use condition, self-care strategies, and treatment options to support engagement and aftercare planning.
  • Document patient progress by maintaining detailed records of therapy sessions, progress toward goals, and interventions; complete documentation within required time frames.
  • Collaborate with other professionals (internal and external) to coordinate care and ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Adhere to ethical guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Engage in continuing education to stay updated on current research and best practices in mental health.
  • Report and document suspected cases of physical, sexual abuse and/or neglect per state law and organizational policy.
  • Conduct oneself in a professional manner and demonstrate an interdisciplinary approach and collaboration among departments.
  • Support changes in staffing and scheduling as program and patient care needs require.
  • Participate in clinical initiatives, projects, and activities to support system-wide continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrate understanding of Joint Commission, state, and other regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Provide for patient safety and the safety of the facility.
  • Other duties as assigned, including maintaining knowledge of department processes and participating in committees, task forces, and work groups as determined by management.
Qualifications
  • Master\'s Degree in Social Work, Professional Counseling, or Family Therapy from an accredited program; health care and psychiatric setting experience preferred.
  • At minimum, in-training licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC-IT), Marriage and Family Therapist Training License (MFT-TL), Advanced Practice Social Work (APSW), or equivalent in the practicing state.
  • If working in a program requiring substance use credentialing, SAC-IT, SAC, or CSAC may be required in Wisconsin; a state-specific substance use credential applicable to the hired state is required.
  • Working knowledge of therapeutic interventions and techniques for all age groups and an understanding of human growth and behavior.
  • On-the-job training requirements include certifications and compliance items as described below.
Required on-the-job Training
  • Compliance with Residential Care Center (RCC) and Community Based Residential Facility (CBRF) requirements (required for Residential Inpatient programs; preferred for all levels of care).
  • American Heart Association CPR certification within 30 days of hire; bi-annual re-certification required.
  • Training in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI) within 60 days of hire/transfer; annual re-certification required.
  • Attend all mandatory in-services relevant to the position.
  • Be responsible for educational requirements and related obligations pertaining to the program\'s licensing and regulatory requirements.
  • For Residential programs – must hold a current and active driver\'s license (preferred for all levels of care).
