Qualifications

  • Master's degree required; clinical supervision and willingness to pursue licensure in Minnesota.

Responsibilities

Hours for this role are Monday - Friday, 8a-430p

As a Therapist at PrairieCare, you will play a crucial role in our mission to provide compassionate and effective care. You will be the first point of contact for individuals in crisis, triaging phone calls and help guide them toward the support they need. Collaborating closely with our on-call physician, you will support in determining the appropriate level of care and coordinate admissions to our programs ensure seamless transitions for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessment & Consultation:Conduct diagnostic interviews and assessments and develop safety plans for patients when necessary. Maintain proficiency in effective patient de-escalation techniques, utilizing Collaborative Problem Solving , therapeutic self, relationship-based care, and trauma-informed care as relevant to the role.
  • Collaboration:Coordinate admissions to ourprograms,liaising with hospitals and other professionals to facilitate a smooth process for clients.
  • Cultural Competence:Bring an understanding of gender, cultural differences, and age-appropriate care to your interactions, ensuring that all clients feel respected and understood.
  • Team Support:Provide backup for therapists and perform other clinical duties within your scope as needed, contributing to a collaborative and supportive team environment.

Qualifications

  • Education: A Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a closely related therapeutic field is required. If your degree is in a closely related field and you are pursuing an LPCC, you must demonstrate that your education meets the coursework requirements of the license, either through your own comparison or an unofficial review with the Minnesota Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy.
  • Licensure: Candidates must be licensed or actively pursuing clinical licensure in the state of Minnesota. This includes receiving clinical supervision and counting clinical supervision hours. An associate-level license in the State of Minnesota (LAMFT, LGSW, LPC) is preferred.
  • Experience:Two years of experience in behavioral healthcare is preferred
  • Knowledge & Skills:

    • Strong understanding of DSM-IV criteria.
    • Proficiency in interviewing and assessment techniques.
    • Professional demeanor in all aspects of performance.
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing, to interact effectively with Clinical Directors and professionals in other organizations.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products, including Word and Outlook.
    • Reliable transportation and telephone.
    • Ability to smoothly and rapidly shift between dissimilar tasks.
    • Capacity to react quickly and calmly as part of a team in volatile and potentially emergency situations.
    • Strong decision-making skills in stressful circumstances.

Compensation for this role ranges from $29-$34 per hour depending on education and experience.
