Job summary

Austin Oaks Hospital is seeking a Therapist Intern to deliver clinical services in the Inpatient Program. You will perform assessments, develop treatment plans, and document progress as part of an interdisciplinary team.

Interns engage in discharge planning and provide group, individual, and family therapy, addressing crises as needed and coordinating with community providers. Must have DCS approval to apply.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in or recent graduate from a Master’s program in Social Work (MSW).
• Hospital must have a contract with the school for internship eligibility.
• Experience or training in clinical mental health services is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical services in the inpatient program, including assessments and treatment planning.
• Contribute to discharge planning and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team.
• Deliver group, individual, and family therapy; document interactions and progress in charts.
• Perform crisis intervention and address hostile behaviors per facility procedures.
