Job summary

Klingberg Family Centers in New Britain, CT seeks a Full Time Therapist for Functional Family Therapy Foster Care to assess referrals, engage families, and deliver FFT FC interventions. The role requires a Master’s in Social Work or related field and licensure eligibility; three years in child welfare is preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Social Work or related field required.
• Clinical Licensure (LMSW/LCP/LMFT) preferred or must be license eligible and working towards licensure.
• Three years experience in child welfare preferred.
• Must maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Rotating on-call services.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial assessments including review of referral information, identify and engage key participants, identify protective and risk factors, and develop analysis of hierarchy and relational assessment within the family.
• Assist in recruitment of foster and adoptive families and conduct home studies to facilitate placements.
• Address clinical needs of clients through FFT FC interventions and assess strengths/needs of children and families referred for services.
• Maintain model-adherent documentation of sessions and contacts; document in Care4 database within 2 business days.
• Collaborate with foster and adoptive parents as team members to protect and nurture children and strengthen families.
• Coordinate permanency planning decisions and activities of multiple service providers; prepare reports for court use.
