Job summary

Bright Care Solutions is seeking a licensed outpatient mental health therapist to provide compassionate care for children, teens, and adults. You will conduct evaluations, write ITPs and progress notes, and lead individual, group, and family therapy within a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires Maryland licensure (LMSW/LCSW-C/LICSW/LCPC/LPC/LMFT), CPR/First Aid, and compliance with COMAR. Flexible work-from-home options are available to support work-life balance.

Qualifications

  • Valid Maryland licensure: LMSW, LCSW-C, LICSW, LCPC, LPC, or LMFT.
  • Must be 18+ years of age and authorized to work in the US; background check required.
  • CPR and First Aid certification required; COMAR trainings completed.
  • Annual health clearance and standard professional requirements must be met.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate intakes, evaluations, transfers, and discharge meetings.
  • Write contact notes, ITPS, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
  • Facilitate individual, group, and family therapy as needed.
  • Collaborate with PRP, Nurse, Medical Director, and Program Director.
  • Maintain safety and wellbeing, connect clients with community services.
  • Refer participants to external services and support teams.
  • Support in program services and psychosocial needs.

About Bright Care Solutions

Bright Care Solutions is a CARF accredited outpatient mental health clinic (OMHC) and psychiatric rehabilitation program (PRP) located in Baltimore, MD. Since 2021, we have been serving patients across their lifespan providing psychiatric evaluations, medication management, psychotherapy, and PRP services. Our mission is to improve health by providing comprehensive mental health care across the lifespan for a diverse population.

Position Summary

The Therapist is responsible for providing compassionate, comprehensive outpatient mental health care to children, teens and adults from various backgrounds while upholding Bright Care Solutions mission and values.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with coordination of intakes, diagnostic evaluations, transfers, and discharge meetings
  • Writing contact notes per visit with member, Individual Treatment Plan (ITP), progress notes and discharge summaries
  • Coordinate Individual Treatment Plan (ITP) meetings as deemed necessary by Program Director
  • Collaborate with other Treatment Team members (PRP, Nurse, Medical Director, and Program Director)
  • Contact appropriate agencies and other parties in suspected cases of abuse and neglect and develop written reports
  • Conduct individual, group and family therapy/counseling as needed
  • Maintain contact with caregivers, case managers, attorneys, etc.
  • Facilitate therapeutic groups with clients to assist in the development of social and interpersonal skills
  • Ensure overall health, safety and wellbeing of clients
  • Support participants and their families by informing them of available community services
  • Refer participants, as necessary, to agencies providing community services
  • Assist in the delivery of other required program services, including meeting the psychosocial needs of participants
  • Other designated responsibilities
Assessment and Evaluation
  • Review each client’s ITP to determine goals and objectives that need to be carried out in the OMHC
  • Perform Diagnostic Evaluations as needed, initial evaluations
  • Write progress notes per session, and initial and updated ITP more if needed, for each client
  • Prepare reports for intake, transfer, or discharge meetings
  • Observe staff and client interaction
Training
  • Confer at least one hour per month with therapeutic and rehabilitative staff members to develop or improve therapeutic programming or to provide group therapy education classes for participants
  • Conduct in-service training sessions for staff as designated by director
  • Participate in any company recommended training
Required Qualifications
  • Valid licensure in the state of Maryland to include: LMSW, LCSW-C, LICSW, LCPC, LPC, or LMFT
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Obtain certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and renew the certification annually
  • Complete first aid training in addition to all other trainings required by COMAR
  • Must be a US citizen or alien who is lawfully authorized to work in the US
  • Successful completion of a background criminal, employment and education history check
  • Satisfactory physical examination by a licensed practitioner including, but not limited to freedom from communicable disease as confirmed by an annual PPD skin test/chest x-ray or documentation from a physician stating that the person is free from communicable disease
Education

Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling from an accredited college or university

Experience

At least one year of experience or training working with clients with pediatric, adults, and elderly with or without developmental disabilities whose condition, due to mental and physical health needs and characteristics, require intensive services

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients
  • Ability to build rapport with patients, demonstrate empathy, active listening, provide feedback based on what they have heard
  • Thorough understanding of HIPAA regulations, mandatory reporting laws (e.g., abuse or neglect), duty to protect, and the ethical codes associated with their specific board (e.g., ACA, NASW)
  • Cultural competence
  • Ability to recognize emergency and be knowledgeable about emergency procedures;
  • Ability to read, write and communicate verbally in the English language

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

Small, fast-paced open office environment with moderate noise levels. Use of phones and computers for extended periods of time. Utilize office equipment and communication technologies for conference calls and teleconference meetings/webinars. Requires general mobility to move through the facility. Ability to lift to 25 pounds. Frequent interaction with staff and customers via phone, in person, email, and other mediums. Normal sitting and standing activities for an office environment.
