Community Mental Health Affiliates, Inc. (CMHA) is hiring a full-time Therapist Assistant for 1st shift at 233 Main St, New Britain, CT. You will work with the MDFT treatment team to support youth and families in home, office, and community settings.

A bachelor’s in social work or related field is required, with at least 1 year of relevant experience. You will participate in crisis intervention, maintain documentation, and collaborate with schools, courts, hospitals, and other community

Responsibilities

• Establish a trusting, supportive relationship with families during home visits, in-office, and community settings.
• Work with the clinical team to support youth and families and maintain caseload.
• Provide crisis intervention and 24/7 on-call coverage as needed.
• Document accurately and support MDFT fidelity monitoring and program evaluation.

This position will be located at 233 Main St, New Britain CT. Mon-Fri 8:30am-4:30pmCompensation Range: The salary range for this position starts at $20.00 per hour.Compensation for each position is determined not only by years of relevant experience, education, and skills, but also by maintaining internal pay equity. CMHA also takes into consideration our benefits and paid time-off package to provide a well-rounded and competitive approach to the applicant’s overall compensation.Summary: Serve as a key member of the Multi-Dimensional Family Therapy (MDFT) treatment team, which will provide treatment for youth/young adults and parents with substance abuse and co-occurring disorders both in home, in office, and community settings.Essential Responsibilities and Target Outcomes:•Establish a trusting supportive relationship with family members through direct contact in the context of home visits, phone contacts and assistance in times of crisis.•Work as part of the treatment team with the assigned clinician, providing assistance to both youth, families, and treatment team members.•Maintains appropriate caseload as determined by agency and funder. Provides crisis intervention to family in the home, office or community if need arises. This includes on‐call 24/7 coverage of families on caseload.•Adhering to documentation requirements and data collection/entry related to MDFT fidelity monitoring and project evaluation efforts.•Engages clients in treatment plan interventions, particularly around clinical involvement, drug testing and activities that will help to support the MDFT model of treatment.•Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with other community agencies and organizations, in order to provide comprehensive and effective treatment services for clients (i.e., schools, courts, hospitals, after school programs, DCF, probation, detox/ residential substance abuse treatment facilities, etc.).•Performs other related duties as assigned.Education: Bachelor’s in social work/human service.
