CMHA is looking to hire a full-time Clinician I for our Child Guidance Center team. This position will be located in New Britain, CT. Mon-Fri 8:30am-4:30pm

Compensation Range: The salary range for this position starts at $57,000 per year.

Compensation for each position is determined not only by years of relevant experience, education, and skills, but also by maintaining internal pay equity. Summary: Serves as an active part of a multidisciplinary team that provides assessment and therapeutic services to adults, children and/or adolescents who present with a wide range of significant behavioral health needs. Treatment is aimed at assisting individuals and/or families by helping them develop the skills necessary to improve their quality of life.

QualificationsEssential Responsibilities and Target Outcomes:
  • Establish a trusting supportive relationship with family members through direct contact in the context of home visits, phone contacts and assistance in times of crisis.
  • Work as part of the treatment team with the assigned clinician, providing assistance to both youth, families, and treatment team members.
  • Maintains appropriate caseload as determined by agency and funder. Provides crisis intervention to family in the home, office or community if need arises. This includes on‐call 24/7 coverage of families on caseload.
  • Adhering to documentation requirements and data collection/entry related to MDFT fidelity monitoring and project evaluation efforts.
  • Engages clients in treatment plan interventions, particularly around clinical involvement, drug testing and activities that will help to support the MDFT model of treatment.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with other community agencies and organizations, in order to provide comprehensive and effective treatment services for clients (i.e., schools, courts, hospitals, after school programs, DCF, probation, detox/ residential substance abuse treatment facilities, etc.).
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education: Bachelor’s in social work/human service. Exceptions to education level may apply based on contract requirements and approval from contract holder.

Credentials and Licenses: Valid CT. driver’s license and ability to provide own transportation.

Experience:
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working with adolescents with substance abuse/behavioral health problems.
  • Beginner to intermediate experience with Microsoft Office products including Word and Outlook.
  • Experience in, or the ability to learn how to use an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system which includes appointment scheduling, authorization tracking, assessments, treatment plans, progress notes and discharge summaries.
