Job summary

Woodland Recovery Center in Southaven, MS, is seeking a Full-Time Therapist to join our primary mental health unit. You will provide compassionate, evidence-based psychotherapy, assess client needs, and develop personalized treatment plans while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualified candidates hold a Master’s degree in a mental health field and licensure (LPC/LCSW/LMFT or equivalent), with experience in psychotherapy and crisis intervention.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in Counseling Psychology, Social Work, or a related mental health field.
• Professional licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or equivalent
• Demonstrated experience in providing psychotherapy and mental health counseling
• Strong knowledge of crisis intervention techniques and ethical standards in mental health care

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments to identify client needs and goals
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans using counseling psychology and psychotherapy techniques
• Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions to address mental health issues and promote healing
• Provide crisis intervention and support clients experiencing acute emotional distress or life transitions
• Utilize anger management strategies and other therapeutic tools to help clients develop healthy coping mechanisms
• Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with legal and ethical standards
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including healthcare providers and social workers, to coordinate holistic care
• Stay current with best practices and emerging research in mental health counseling and therapy

Woodland Recovery Center provides evidence-based, multi-level care for individuals with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. We are seeking Therapists to add to our dynamic team who will support our Primary Mental Health Unit! Therapists play a critical role in supporting individuals and families through various mental health challenges and life transitions. Your primary objective will be to provide compassionate, evidence-based therapeutic interventions that promote emotional well-being and resilience. • Training or certification in specialized therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) or Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
• Background in group therapy facilitation and family systems therapy
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and teletherapy platforms
• Additional certifications in areas such as trauma-informed care or substance abuse counseling
