Job summary

The Bridge is seeking a compassionate Therapist to provide trauma-informed, evidence-based services for survivors of domestic and sexual violence. You will deliver individual, family, and group therapy to help clients achieve safety and progress toward goals.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related field.
  • Active Texas clinical license (LMFT, LPC, or LCSW) in good standing; provisionally licensed candidates may be considered with approved supervision.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of three years of experience with at-risk or trauma-impacted populations.
  • Knowledge of community, legal, and mental health resources for survivors.
  • Ability to conduct crisis intervention, safety planning, and respond in high-stress situations.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication; ability to engage diverse populations.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Description

The Bridge is seeking a compassionate and skilled Therapist to provide trauma-informed, evidence-based services to survivors of domestic and sexual violence. This role delivers individual, family, and group therapy, supporting clients in achieving safety, stability, and progress toward their personal goals.

The Therapist conducts comprehensive intakes and clinical assessments, formulates diagnoses using DSM criteria, and develops individualized treatment plans tailored to each client’s needs. This position provides ongoing therapeutic support, psychoeducation, and skill-building to help clients process trauma, strengthen coping strategies, and promote long-term healing.

Responsibilities also include crisis intervention services such as risk assessment, safety planning, and de- escalation. The Therapist responds to crisis hotline calls as needed and participates in a rotating 24-hour on- call schedule to provide in-person advocacy and support at local hospitals, collaborating with law enforcement and other emergency personnel when appropriate.

The Therapist may provide court-related support, including preparing clients for legal proceedings and offering follow-up support. Additional responsibilities include maintaining timely and accurate clinical documentation, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and participating in case consultations to ensure coordinated care.

This role requires a commitment to professional growth and staying current with best practices in trauma- informed care, while actively supporting the mission and community impact of The Bridge.

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related human services field
  • Must hold an active Texas clinical license (LMFT, LPC, or LCSW) in good standing; provisionally licensed candidates may be considered with approved clinical supervision in accordance with licensing board requirements
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience working with at-risk or trauma-impacted populations, preferably survivors of domestic or sexual violence
  • Knowledge of community, legal, and mental health resources supporting survivors of domestic/sexual violence and homelessness
  • Ability to conduct crisis intervention, implement safety planning, and respond independently in high-stress situations
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage diverse populations
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate support or psychoeducational groups
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional boundaries in accordance with ethical standards
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekdays with occasional evenings and weekends as program needs require
Other Requirements
  • Must pass criminal background check
  • Must provide and maintain current TX Driver’s License
  • Must provide and maintain clean driving record and annually update driving record
  • Must provide and maintain current auto liability insurance
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S
  • Must be able to lift/carry (40) lbs, and ascend/descend stairs in emergency shelter setting
