JOB TITLE:

Therapist, Art Therapist, Dance Movement Therapist

BASIC FUNCTION:

Provides individual and group therapy to individuals diagnosed with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Provides consultation to staff regarding individuals’ issues and concerns. Acts as an individual advocate.

SCOPE:

Ensures compliance with Medicaid/Behavioral Health Clinic (BHC) policies and procedures for therapy services. Maintains caseload as assigned, including clinical assessment, treatment planning, and monitoring of progress.

JOB DUTIES

• Provides individual and/or group therapy treatment to individuals, as needed and appropriate. Provides crisis intervention, as needed.
• Completes all clinical paperwork and billing as required by BHC, DHS, and any governing entities.
• Attends annual Discovery meetings for assigned individuals and actively provides input, including offering feedback for Implementation Strategies (IS) development.
• Ensures that individuals and staff are supported concerning individual issues for assigned caseload.
• Facilitates access to community resources including family services, physicians, and case management.
• Attends individual, clinical supervision weekly.
• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

Education: Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related Master's Degree from an accredited university. LCPC, LPC, LCSW, or LSW. Bonus, but not necessary, to have specialized degree/training in providing specified creative arts therapy (art, music, dance/movement).
