Job summary

Clarion Psychiatric Center, a subsidiary of Universal Health Services, is recruiting a FULL TIME Therapist to join our Clinical Team.

Provide individual and group therapy to support treatment goals within an inpatient/outpatient setting; participate in hospital committees and the treatment team; ensure accurate assessment of patient groups to tailor care plans.

Qualifications

• Masters degree in social service field is required.
• Inpatient/outpatient psychiatric experience preferred; experience in individual and/or group therapy.
• Knowledge of family dynamics, casework, interpersonal relationships and regional social policy.
• Ability to communicate and teach patients; CPR training may be required.

Clarion Psychiatric Center offers inpatient treatment for adults with moderate to severe psychiatric problems, inpatient crisis stabilization for children and adolescents, and a Partial Hospitalization Program for school-aged children. Our recently expanded 112-bed inpatient program has 4 units. For over 30-years, Clarion has provided the community a compassionate and respectful therapeutic environment with an emphasis on strong teamwork.

Knowledge of therapeutic relationships, therapeutic processes, growth and development, limit-setting and behavior management, crisis management of aggressive behaviors, CPR training. Communication skills and ability to teach patients.

General Working Environment

- Hospital setting. Some risk involved in the event of the presence of an aggressive / violent patient. Works in a well lighted and ventilated setting, is subject to frequent interruptions, is involved with the patients and personnel throughout designated unit under varying conditions and circumstances. Is subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including exposure to HIV and Hepatitis B Viruses

Physical Requirements

- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. and be able to walk and stand for long periods. Able to participate in crisis prevention intervention. The Physical Requirements described herein are representative of those, which must be met by an employee to successfully perform the primary functions of this job.
