Job summary

Denver Children’s Home is seeking a licensed or license-eligible Therapist to deliver trauma-informed individual, family and group therapy for children and their families in Day Treatment or Residential settings.

The role requires a Master’s degree in a mental health field, Colorado licensure or eligibility, and experience with trauma-focused care, with opportunities to work in a supportive team and participate in a comprehensive program.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a mental health field or related degree.
  • Licensed or license-eligible in Colorado (additional compensation discussed at hire).
  • CAC or CAC-eligible preferred (additional compensation discussed at hire).
  • Minimum of two years’ experience with children/adolescents, preferably with trauma/behavioral issues.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual, family and/or group therapy using a trauma-informed model.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans.
  • Set limits aligned with treatment plans and DCH philosophy.
  • Provide continuity of care for clients and families.
  • Document elements of client care.
  • Develop and maintain therapeutic relationships during and after care.
  • Provide home-based visits as required.
  • Provide supervision of all children.

Education

BACKGROUND

Denver Children’s Home provides a comprehensive therapeutic and educational continuum of care for our region’s abused, neglected and traumatized children and their families with mental health issues. We offer prevention, intervention, and treatment programs grounded in trauma-informed care and the latest in brain-development research.

SUMMARY

The primary function of the Therapist is to provide family, individual, and/or group psychotherapy from a trauma-informed care model to children and their families in the Day Treatment or Residential Programs.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
  • Provide individual, family and/or group therapy, using a trauma informed model of care, to clients assigned to him/her.
  • Will develop and implement appropriate treatment plans.
  • Set effective limits which are consistent with treatment plans and DCH’s philosophy.
  • Provide good continuity of care for clients and their families
  • Document elements of client care.
  • Develop, maintain and terminate therapeutic relationships with clients as is appropriate to their success during their time at DCH and after they leave.
  • Provide home-based visits, as required.
  • Provide consistent and effective supervision of all children
Compensation

Salary: $50,000.00 – $70,000.00 per year

REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master’s degree in a mental health related field and be
  • Licensed or License eligible in the state of Colorado (additional compensation for such will be discussed at hire)
  • CAC or CAC-eligible preferred (additional compensation for such will be discussed at hire)
  • Minimum of two years’ experience working with children and/or adolescents, preferably with those with significant emotional disabilities/behavioral issues and/or trauma.
  • Family therapy experience.
