Job summary

Aspiranet’s Therapeutic Youth Counselor I (TYC I) is part of the Hope Forward Campus, a growing residential program for youth requiring trauma-informed care. You will supervise up to four youths, support daily routines, meals, school, activities, and therapeutic interventions while collaborating with Behavioral Health and Social Work staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or related field preferred.
• Relevant licenses/certifications or 1 year STRTP/group home experience favored.
• Experience with trauma-informed care and behavioral health teams.
• Valid certificate as an alcohol and/or drug counselor
• Previous employment as staff or volunteer at a group home or STRTP for at least 1 year
• Relevant life experience in child welfare, mental health, juvenile justice, or trauma caregiving

Responsibilities

• Collaborate in a brand-new facility designed for healing and innovation.
• Be an active member of a therapeutic community focused on trauma-responsive care.
• Implement structured daily routines honoring youth's rituals and traditions.
• Lead engaging therapeutic activities and provide transportation as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, welcoming environment with supplies.
• Support compliant distribution of self-administered medications.
• Complete documentation and notes per program and funder standards.
• Lear n core practice models: ARC, Youth Thrive, CRM, LSCI, ProAct, MI.
• Assist youth in amplifying their voice and choice.
• Report incidents and progress to supervision.
• Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation per licensing standards.
• Attend meetings, trainings, and supervision for growth.
• Ensure compliance with licensing bodies (CLC, JCAHO, CDHS).
