Job summary

Aspiranet is seeking a Therapeutic Youth Counselor I for the Hope Forward Campus in Turlock, CA. This full-time, on-site role supports up to four youth in a STRTP program, providing structure, meals, school, activities, and trauma-informed interventions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field
• Valid teaching permit or relevant coursework/certifications
• Experience or exposure to STRTP or group home settings
• Ability to pass licensing and background checks
• Proven ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

Responsibilities

• Collaborate in a brand-new facility designed for healing and innovation.
• Participate as an active member of a therapeutic community of care focused on trauma-responsive treatment.
• Implement structured daily routines and lead engaging therapeutic activities.
• Support self-administered medications distribution under supervision.
• Complete documentation and notes per program and funder standards.
• Learn and apply core practice models (ARC, Youth Thrive, CRM, LSCI, ProAct, MI).
• Assist youth in amplifying their voice and choice during treatment.
• Attend meetings, trainings, and supervision for professional growth.

Education

Bachelor's degree (Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, or related)

Valid Child Development Teaching Permit

12 semester units in early childhood education, psychology, adolescent development, criminal justice, or foster/kinship care education

Valid alcohol and/or drug counselor certificate

Experience in staff or volunteer roles at group homes or STRTP

Relevant life experience in child welfare, mental health, juvenile justice, or trauma-informed care
