Job summary

St. Joseph Children’s Home in Louisville, KY is seeking a Residential Staff member to maintain a therapeutic milieu and ensure the health and safety of children in care. You will support treatment plans, document events, and assist with daily activities and life skills training.

The role requires crisis-management certification and dependable attendance, with training in Safe Crisis Management and Defensive Driver’s. Prior care experience is beneficial and adherence to policies is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implements the child caring program by providing a therapeutic milieu.
• Responds to clients' needs with fairness, objectivity, firmness, care, and concern.
• Observes behavioral and emotional climate within the group and with each individual client and respond appropriately.
• Ensures the health and safety of clients in care.
• Provides input into client's treatment plans and goals; communicates with the treatment team regarding progress.
• Supervises residents in daily treatment activities and teaches life skills such as housekeeping and personal care.
