Job summary

HORSES FOR HOPE TRC INC in Raleigh seeks a compassionate, experienced Therapeutic Riding Instructor to join our nonprofit program. You will teach adaptive riding, follow curricula, ensure safety, and collaborate with Head Trainer and Barn Manager.

The position is part-time, with evenings/weekends possibly required, reporting to the Head Trainer. PATH Intl CTRI certification preferred; candidates pursuing certification welcome.

Qualifications

• PATH Intl. CTRI strongly preferred; candidates pursuing certification are welcome.
• Fully enrolled in PATH program if pursuing certification; documented supervised hours required.
• Documented supervised hours in equine handling.
• Documented supervised hours with students who have special needs; supervised teaching hours included.
• At least 2 years of experience teaching adaptive/therapeutic riding.
• Excellent communication and teamwork; able to follow directions and contribute to a coordinated program.
• Supportive, respectful attitude toward riders, families, volunteers, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Teach adaptive/therapeutic riding lessons for children and adults with diverse needs.
• Follow established curricula, safety protocols, and horse assignments under supervision.
• Collaborate closely with staff and volunteers to ensure smooth lesson flow.
• Assist with rider evaluations, progress documentation, and basic horse care as needed.
