ManeGait is a nonprofit therapeutic riding center in Texas seeking a full-time certified instructor to expand access to equine-assisted activities in our community.

You will plan and deliver safe group therapeutic riding lessons, collaborate with volunteers and staff, maintain progress notes, participate in horse care and volunteer training, and support fundraising events, all in an outdoor environment.

Qualifications

  • PATH Intl. CTRI or CHA IRD credential is required.
  • Experience teaching group lessons to riders with disabilities in a therapeutic/adaptive setting preferred.
  • Warm, patient communication with riders, families, and volunteers.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver safe, group therapeutic riding lessons for riders with a range of needs.
  • Collaborate with volunteers, sidewalkers, and staff to provide a structured session environment.
  • Maintain accurate session documentation and progress notes for each rider.
  • Participate in horse care, volunteer training, continuing education, and fundraising events.
  • Provide administrative support to the Riding Program during session breaks and as needed.
  • Work in an outdoor environment with exposure to weather and uneven terrain.
  • Contribute to ManeGait’s mission across its four pillars: Therapeutic Horsemanship, Brain Building, Community, and Education.

Job description

ManeGait is a nonprofit therapeutic riding center committed to transforming lives through the power of horses. We serve riders of all abilities, delivering therapeutic horseback riding programs rooted in compassion, safety, and growth.

We are seeking a full-time certified instructor to help us expand access to equine-assisted activities in our community.

What you’ll do
  • Plan and deliver safe, group therapeutic riding lessons for riders with a range of physical, cognitive, and emotional needs
  • Collaborate with volunteers, sidewalkers, and staff to provide a supportive, structured session environment
  • Maintain accurate session documentation and progress notes for each of your riders
  • Participate in horse care, volunteer training, continuing education, and fundraising events
  • Provide administrative support to the Riding Program during session breaks and as needed
  • Work in a fast-paced, highly active outdoor environment with exposure to walking on uneven terrain, standing for extended periods of time, and changing weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, and dust
  • Contribute to ManeGait’s mission across our four pillars: Therapeutic Horsemanship, Brain Building, Community, and Education
What we’re looking for
  • Current PATH Intl. Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor (CTRI) or CHA Instructor of Riders with Disabilities (IRD) credential
  • Experience teaching group lessons to riders with disabilities in a therapeutic or adaptive setting
  • Strong communication skills and a warm, patient approach with riders, families, and volunteers
  • Experienced rider (English or Western) with well-developed horsemanship knowledge
  • A true team player who brings initiative, professionalism, and a shared dedication to delivering the highest quality therapeutic horsemanship experience
  • Availability for a full-time schedule that includes Saturdays and some evenings, with weekday time off adjusted accordingly to balance weekend and evening hours
