Sonora Behavioral Health Hospital in Tucson, AZ, is seeking an Activity Therapist to support inpatients across children, adolescents and adults in crisis. You will assess needs, plan and lead therapeutic activities, and help patients reach treatment goals within a structured program.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's in Therapeutic Recreation, 3+ years in healthcare recreation, and CTRS or equivalent; CPR/de-escalation certifications are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation or related field required.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Three or more years' experience in recreation in a healthcare setting.
• CTRS or related certification, CPR, and de-escalation training required.

Responsibilities

• Complete activity assessment through patient observation and interview to guide treatment plans.
• Plan, direct and implement activities to advance patient progress toward treatment goals.
• Lead sessions in therapeutic leisure skills, education, and awareness.
• Instruct activities such as sports, art, music or relaxation techniques aligned with patient needs.
• Develop and implement intervention plans and modify activities as needed.
• Engage patients in therapeutic activities and help build social skills.
• Maintain a positive, professional attitude and ensure patient safety.
