Acadia Healthcare's Sonora Behavioral Health is seeking an Activity Therapist to support inpatient and crisis stabilization services for children, adolescents and adults. The role focuses on therapeutic recreation, assessment, and individualized treatment planning to improve mental, physical, emotional and social well-being.

Competenze

• Bachelor's Degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Recreational Therapy or related field is required.
• Master’s degree is preferred.
• Three or more years’ experience in recreation in a healthcare setting.
• Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) or related certification; CPR and de-escalation certification required.
• First aid may be required depending on state or facility requirements.

• Complete activity assessment through observation and interviews to inform treatment plans.
• Plan, organize, direct and implement activities within the treatment program to progress goals.
• Lead therapeutic leisure skills activities, education and awareness.
• Facilitate activity sessions to improve mental and physical well-being.
• Instruct patients in activities and techniques (sports, dance, music, art, relaxation).
• Develop and implement treatment plans and activity interventions.
• Engage patients in therapeutic activities and community outings.
• Help patients learn social skills and independence.
