Job summary

MeadowWood Behavioral Health Hospital is seeking a qualified Recreation Therapist to plan and direct activity therapy as part of each patient's treatment plan. You will assess patient needs, design engaging therapeutic activities, and lead sessions aimed at improving mental and physical well-being while promoting social skills and independence.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Therapeutic Recreation or related field, 3+ years in healthcare recreation, and CTRS or licensure; CPR and

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation or related field required.
Master's degree preferred.
Three or more years' experience in recreation in a healthcare setting required.
CTRS or certification/licensure in expressive therapy area and CPR de-escalation training required.
First aid may be required per state/facility.

Responsibilities

Complete activity assessments from patient observations and interviews to develop treatment plans.
Plan, organize, direct and implement activities to progress treatment goals.
Lead and facilitate activity sessions to improve mental and physical well-being.
Instruct patients in activities such as sports, dance, art or relaxation techniques.
Engage patients in therapeutic activities and help develop social skills for independence.
