Job summary

Everwell Ridgeview Hospital is seeking a Recreation Therapist in Middle Point, Ohio to develop and lead therapeutic recreation programs for patients receiving behavioral health and addiction treatment services. This role helps patients improve social functioning, coping skills, stress management, and overall wellness.

You will assess patient recreational interests, plan and facilitate activities, document progress, and collaborate with treatment teams to support wellness and social functioning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in therapeutic recreation or related field required.
• CPR/AED certification required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Experience in psychiatric, addiction, or eating disorder treatment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient recreational interests, social functioning, and therapeutic needs.
• Plan and facilitate therapeutic recreation activities and group sessions.
• Develop individualized treatment goals and interventions.
• Document patient participation and treatment progress.
• Conduct educational sessions related to wellness and leisure skills.
• Collaborate with treatment teams and patient families as appropriate.
• Maintain recreation supplies, equipment, and program safety.
• Support patient engagement and positive social interaction.
