Job summary

WellLife Network is seeking a Recreation Counselor to engage youth in structured, pro-social activities that build emotional growth and independence. The role focuses on therapeutic recreational experiences within the Community Residence Program, reporting to the Program Director.

You will design and document monthly activity calendars, coach youth in daily living and social skills, and collaborate with the treatment team to align goals with individual plans in a compassionate, trauma‑informed

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma with relevant experience working with children and adolescents who have emotional and behavioral disorders.
• Associate’s degree in human services, psychology, recreation, or a related field preferred.
• Valid New York State driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, document, and manage a monthly calendar of recreational activities.
• Provide supervision and individualized support to ensure safety and well‑being of youth.
• Maintain a structured, trauma‑informed environment that supports emotional and social development.
