Job summary

Rocky Mountain Care Group seeks a Therapeuptic Recreation Therapist Assistant to support the Activities Department in Payson, UT. You will help plan, prepare, facilitate, and document activities aligned with residents' interests and care plans.

You will work under supervision to deliver diverse programs, adapt activities for dementia or functional limitations, and promote social interaction, well-being, and meaningful engagement for residents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Utah requirements may apply.
• Ability to work effectively with older adults and those with limitations.
• Respectful, professional communication with residents, families, and staff.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
• Successful completion of facility orientation, background check, and screenings.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and implementing therapeutic recreation programs.
• Facilitate individual and group activities based on residents' needs.
• Support activities such as exercise, music, games, arts/crafts, and reminiscence.
• Adapt activities for dementia or physical limitations and ensure safety.
• Document participation and outcomes per facility policy.
• Maintain a clean, safe activity area and assist with materials.
