Job summary

Community Counseling of Bristol County is seeking Bachelor’s level candidates to join our Therapeutic Mentoring program to serve the Taunton/New Bedford area. Therapeutic Mentors provide one‑to‑one intervention and therapeutic skill‑building to youth, ages 7 to 21, to address daily living, social, communication, and emotional regulation skills challenges.

TM’s will meet with the youth in the community to support and coach the development of self‑management, problem‑solving, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or a related field.
• One year of experience working with children and families; volunteer and internship experience will be considered.
• A valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Must possess good organizational skills, as well as effective verbal, written and computer skills.
• Proficiency with computers including ability to use or learn to use an electronic health record system and audio‑visual communication technology.

Responsibilities

• Meet one‑to‑one with youth in community settings
• Develop treatment plans in collaboration with the outpatient therapists, Intensive Care Coordinators and/or In‑Home Therapists
• Support the youth in developing goals in identified skill‑building areas
• Consult with schools, outpatient providers and psychiatric providers to support the youth’s ongoing treatment needs
• Identify community supports and activities to engage youth in skill‑building goals
• Provide flexibility and creativity in engaging youth of varying developmental levels
• Meet all documentation requirements of the agency and TM program specifications
