  • Experience in mental health, social work, counseling, or youth services preferred.
  • Demonstrated reliability, professional boundaries, and comfort working in client homes and community settings.
  • Masters degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or related field preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation within the SF Bay Area.

Role Description The Therapeutic Mentor will provide in-person support to clients in the San Francisco Bay Area, helping them build practical skills, emotional resilience, and healthier daily routines. This part-time, on-site role includes meeting clients in their homes and communities, implementing individualized support plans, and modeling coping strategies in real-world settings. The Therapeutic Mentor will collaborate with clinical providers, families, and community resources to reinforce treatment goals and promote safety and stability. Day-to-day responsibilities include coaching clients through challenges, supporting engagement in school, work, or recovery activities, tracking progress, and documenting sessions in a clear and timely manner.

Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust, rapport, and supportive relationships across diverse backgrounds.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal communication skills, including clear verbal and written communication and active listening.
  • Experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults, with sensitivity to developmental and family dynamics.
  • Ability to engage in community outreach, collaborate with local resources, and support clients in navigating community-based services.
  • Relevant experience in mental health, social work, counseling, or youth services (community-based or in-home support preferred).
  • Demonstrated reliability, professional boundaries, and comfort working in client homes and community settings.
  • Working towards or completion of masters degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or related field is preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation within the San Francisco Bay Area, and ability to work a flexible part-time schedule.
