Job summary

Arbour Counseling Services, a subsidiary of Universal Health Services, is seeking a Therapeutic Mentor to support youth under 21 with mental health or behavioral challenges in community-based settings. The role offers structured one-on-one, strength-based support, with opportunities for growth and education advancement.

The position is full-time, in-person, with competitive compensation and a robust benefits package, including tuition reimbursement and ongoing supervision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Human Services, or a related field with at least 1 year of youth/family experience.
• Massachusetts driver’s license and daily access to a registered and insured vehicle.
• Excellent written and verbal communications.
• Ability to independently plan and organize one’s own schedule and client services.
• Knowledge of Microsoft computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Meeting individually with youth in the community for Skill Building.
• Coordinate with youth’s therapist and guardian to assist in achieving treatment goals.
• Assist youth in building various coping, life, social, behavior and emotion management skills.
• Implement therapeutic interventions aligned with the therapist treatment plan to address youth’s mental health, behavioral and emotional needs.
• Coordinate care with collateral contacts.
• Provide telephone coaching and support with youth as needed.
• Complete documentation of all meetings and collateral contacts.
• Attend weekly staff/department meetings and supervision.

About the Role

Want to make a difference in children’s lives and in the community? Become a Therapeutic Mentor with Arbour Counseling Services! Our team of Therapeutic Mentors help youth under the age of 21 with mental health or behavioral challenges to develop specific independent life skills as a part of a clinical treatment team.

Our Therapeutic Mentors offer structured, one-on-one, strength-based support, modeling and training in age-appropriate behaviors, interpersonal communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and relating appropriately to other youth or adults, all while doing fun activities in the community! Services can take place in parks, basketball courts, libraries, animal shelters, museums, malls and any other place/activity that may peak the youth’s interest.
