Job summary

NurturEd is seeking a Special Needs Teacher Assistant to join our Rhode Island learning centers. You will work with a team of teachers to provide a nurturing, structured environment for children, including those with special needs.

Training and collaboration with clinicians help tailor activities to individual goals. The role involves assisting with behavior plans, engaging children in learning, and partnering with families to ensure successful progress.

Qualifications

• Experience with special needs children or challenging behaviors preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with families and clinicians.
• Willingness to participate in trainings after hours.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers to provide a safe, structured space for learning.
• Engage children in reading, play, and activities.
• Support inclusion of children with special needs; work with clinicians.
• Monitor behavior plans and document progress using the tracking app.
• Collaborate with families and staff to support goals.
