Job summary

IntersectHC is seeking a Cook for the Big Rapids location. The role involves preparing and serving meals for residents and staff, following dietary requirements and nutrition plans, and maintaining high standards of sanitation and safety.

The position requires handling menus, producing meals on schedule, and adhering to infection control policies. Prior experience in quantity food preparation is preferred, with some knowledge of therapeutic diets desirable.

Qualifications

• Six months paid quantity food preparation experience with recipes for 25–50 servings.
• Formal or on-the-job training in quantity food preparation, estimating quantities, storing food supplies, sanitation and safety.
• Prefer some knowledge of therapeutic diets.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve various food items.
• Report occupational exposures and safety issues to the Director of Food Services.
• Assure staff compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Follow the established schedule by the Food & Nutrition Manager.
• Review menus prior to preparation.
• Inspect special diet trays for correct diet.
• Ensure dietary procedures follow policies and sanitation standards.
• Assist in establishing a food service production line to prepare meals on time.
• Process diet changes from Nursing Services.
• Prepare meals according to planned menus and recipes.
