Job summary

Olathe Public Schools is seeking a Therapeutic Program Para (TPP) to assist in the supervision, care, and instruction of students with severe social, emotional, and behavioral disabilities in site-based classrooms. The role supports IEP and BIP plans, monitors behavior, collects data, and performs classroom clerical tasks, under certified staff direction; occasional personal care support may be required.

Starting salary is $19.00, with benefits including KPERS, EAP, PTO and regular pay dates on

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• If the school building is Title I, 48 hours of college credit or the ability to pass the Title I assessment test is required.
• Job related experience is desired.

Responsibilities

• Adapts and provides accommodations of classroom activities under the teacher's direction.
• Aids students in and out of classroom for social, emotional, and behavioral growth.
• Assists students with personal care needs when required to support in-school function.
• Attends meetings and professional development to improve job-related skills.
• Collaborates with staff to support student progress per IEP/BIP under certified staff guidance.
• Implements behavioral plans per IEP team guidance to maintain safe environments.
• Instructs students in activities to meet IEP goals under supervision.
• Maintains instructional materials and data sheets for reliable progress tracking.
• Monitors students across school environments to ensure safety and positive learning.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
