Job summary

Blue Bird Day in Wheaton, IL is seeking a Therapeutic Assistant Department Lead to support children ages 2–7 with ASD, ADHD, and other neurodiverse needs in a play-based clinical setting.

You will mentor Therapeutic Assistants, collaborate daily with occupational, physical, and speech therapists, and help prepare therapy activities and group rotations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate's degree OR completion of at least 60 semester hours of college-level coursework.
• Experience working with children or clients with special needs is a plus.
• Meets or Exceeds Expectations in performance review competencies.
• Ability to lift up to 25lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with individualized therapy activities and classroom/lesson preparation.
• Supporting group therapy rotations.
• Collaborating daily with occupational, physical, speech-language pathologists, and social workers.
• Helping maintain a positive, engaging play-based learning environment.
• Providing mentorship and performance feedback to Therapeutic Assistants.
