Job summary

Responsibilities

• Determines the suitability of whole blood and apheresis blood component donors and patients according to established standards
• Collection of HPCs - Stem Cells including immune effector cells, whole blood and therapeutic products from suitable donors and patients using automated and non-automated procedures
• Performs clinical apheresis and photopheresis procedures
• Possesses knowledge of blood collection theory and practice in order to diagnose, educate and treat donor, patient, and responses to actual or potential problems
• Performs medical screening of stem cell donors, whole blood donors, and patients
• Handles patient and blood donor reactions
• Some travel within the state required for patient procedures and/or as medical historian at mobile blood drives
