Job summary

The Italian Home for Children is seeking a TASP Staff member for the Therapeutic After School Program. The role involves supervising children, planning activities, transporting youth, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to maintain a safe, therapeutic milieu.

This is a part-time position with some full-time responsibilities during peak periods; schedule runs Monday–Friday, 3pm–7pm during the school year (20 hours/week) and 8am–4pm during school and summer vacation (40 hours/week).

Qualifications

• Prior experience working with children, families, and teachers.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Discretion regarding confidentiality of clients and families.
• Ability to bend, reach, stand, and lift up to 75 pounds.
• Valid US Driver's License.
• Bachelor’s Degree in education or related field preferred, or equivalent work experience.

The Therapeutic After School Program (TASP) Staff is a member of the after school, vacation and summer programs. TASP Staff are responsible for providing a productive, interactive and safe environment for youth served. This position requires engaging with children through the following: planning, organizing, and leading therapeutic activities, collaborating with teammates regarding daily structure, and working with multi-disciplinary team members to create a safe and therapeutic milieu environment. TASP Staff members provide transportation for youth in our care via program vehicles. TASP Staff are responsible for providing the highest quality of care by implementing a nurturing, caring, safe and structured environment for children to thrive and succeed.This is a part-time role with full-time responsibilities at certain times of the year. The Therapeutic After School Program is held Monday-Friday from 3pm-7pm, Monday-Friday during the school year (20 hours per week) and 8am-4pm during school and summer vacation (40 hours per week).The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of duties and responsibilities that will be required of positions given this title, but additional responsibilities may be required.
