Job summary

The Italian Home for Children is seeking a TASP Staff member for the Therapeutic After School Program. The role involves supervising children, planning activities, transporting youth, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to maintain a safe, therapeutic milieu.

This is a part-time position with some full-time responsibilities during peak periods; schedule runs Monday–Friday, 3pm–7pm during the school year (20 hours/week) and 8am–4pm during school and summer vacation (40 hours/week).

Qualifications

• Prior experience working with children, families, and teachers.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Discretion regarding confidentiality of clients and families.
• Ability to bend, reach, stand, and lift up to 75 pounds.
• Valid US Driver's License.
• Bachelor’s Degree in education or related field preferred, or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist children with homework, life skills, mentoring, and emotional support.
• Create and participate in daily program schedule of activities.
• Direct supervision and management of children at all times.
• Transport clients to and from the program and off-campus activities using program vehicles.
