Job summary

Italian Home for Children at the Jamaica Plain Campus in Boston, MA is seeking an Assistant Teacher to support students with emotional and behavioral needs. You will assist the classroom teacher, implement planned activities, supervise lunch and recess, and help lead enrichment programs during summer and school breaks.

Job Details: Job Location: Jamaica Plain Campus - JAMAICA PLAIN, MA, Salary Range: $21.00 - $21.00Hourly, The Pallotta School is an out-of-district placement for kids ages 5-14 requiring a therapeutic day school placement, residential-education placement, or extended evaluation. Students at the Pallotta School have emotional and behavioral regulation challenges, may have experienced trauma, and benefit from individualized and differentiated models of academic instruction.

The Assistant Teacher (AT) works as an assistant to the classroom special education teacher providing academic and behavioral support to students. Assistant Teachers are valuable collaborators in classrooms working with special education teachers and clinicians. The AT is responsible for carrying out the curriculum as created and developed by the lead teacher. ATs are responsible for implementing academic and extra-curricular programs during the summer program and school vacation weeks. The Assistant Teacher will ensure the students’ overall experience is in line with training principles, Italian Home’s treatment philosophy, and the highest quality of care.

The hourly wage for this role is $21 per hour USD.
