Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a Therapeutic Activities Aide for Wernersville State Hospital to lead therapeutic group sessions that promote personal growth and psychosocial skills.

You will assist professional staff, observe progress, document notes, and support participants with engagement and safety during activities. Evening hours apply, with full-time schedule and no telework.

Qualifications

• Six months of experience as an Aide Trainee or equivalent.
• Six months of work experience providing care to individuals requiring assistance with daily activities.
• Equivalent combination of experience and training.

Responsibilities

• Lead planned therapeutic sessions and guide participants toward treatment goals.
• Observe participant engagement and document notes in the charting system; share updates with staff.
• Provide one-to-one encouragement and help to engage in programming.
• Escort participants to activity locations; monitor safety and proper use of supplies and equipment.
• Maintain activity materials; request repairs or supplies and keep spaces hazard-free.
• Attend program planning meetings and apply training to meet therapeutic objectives.
