Job summary

Charleston Healthcare Group in Texas seeks a Director of Activities to lead a quality program of resident activities within a multidisciplinary team. The role designs individualized activity plans to restore function, engagement, and well-being for residents.

The Director oversees assessment, documentation, staff training, and coordination with Nursing and other departments. Must hold Activity Certification and high school diploma; licensure or eligibility as Therapeutic Recreation Specialist

Qualifications

• Must be a qualified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist who is Licensed or registered where applicable.
• Must have Activity Certification and a high school diploma.
• Must communicate well, verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Develops activity plans based on initial assessments.
• Restores self-confidence and social skills through activities.
• Participates in patient care plan conferences as scheduled.
• Maintains confidentiality and proper documentation.
• Supervises and trains activity personnel, and orients volunteers.
• Coordinates and participates in community-oriented projects and special events.
