Job summary

Oceans Behavioral Hospital Amarillo is seeking an Activity Coordinator to help provide structured therapeutic recreational activities under the supervision of the CTRS.

You will assist in planning and conducting individual and group activities, participate as a key member of the treatment team, and help document care in the medical record while maintaining age-sensitive communication with patients and families.

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate knowledge and skills to care for patients across ages and disabilities.
• Excellent communication and group/process skills in age-specific needs.
• Must complete CPR certification and Oceansapproved de-escalation program.

Responsibilities

• Assist in providing structured therapeutic recreational activities under CTRS supervision.
• Plan and conduct individual and group activities as assigned.
• Participate in the treatment team and attend meetings.
• Document promptly in the medical record.
• Communicate sensitively with patients and families.
• Identify safety and care needs under CTRS direction.
• Assist in discharge planning with patient support system.
• Respond to inquiries and support chart audits.
• Assist in planning therapy sessions as ordered.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
