Job summary

QuEra Computing is seeking a talented theorist to support modeling and architecture for our neutral-atom quantum computers. You will develop physics-based models of key sub-components and work with experimental teams to validate and refine these models, determining operating regimes and technical requirements.

You will collaborate with compiler, applications, and QEC teams to ensure that low-level control abstractions align with algorithmic and architectural needs.

Qualifications

• PhD in theoretical AMO physics or closely related field.
• Experience modeling AMO experiments and Rydberg physics.
• Proven ability to collaborate with experimental AMO or quantum hardware groups.
• Strong publication record in AMO physics or quantum science.
• Basic knowledge of quantum error correction methods and quantum algorithms.
• Proficiency in Python and/or Julia for scientific modeling and simulation.

Responsibilities

• Develop physics-based models of neutral-atom quantum computer sub-components and characterize performance.
• Collaborate with experimental teams to validate models and guide experiments.
• Translate theoretical insights into concrete guidance for architecture decisions and low-level controls.
