Job summary

Chapman University is seeking a Theatre Technician II to support Memorial Hall Auditorium and other venues on campus. You will collaborate with staff to plan and implement technical production needs for concerts, lectures, and events, operating lighting, sound, projection, and rigging systems, while delivering excellent customer service.

This full-time position requires two years of live-event tech experience, strong safety awareness, and the ability to work nights and weekends.

Qualifications

  • Two or more years in theatre or live event production.
  • Experience operating professional lighting, sound, projection, and AV systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment quickly and effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for university, academic, and external events.
  • Set up, operate, and strike lighting, audio, projection, video, staging, and rigging systems.
  • Conduct pre-event system checks to ensure all equipment is functioning properly.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues before and during events to minimize disruptions.
  • Support rehearsals, performances, presentations, and live productions.
