Job summary

Indiana University—Bloomington, Jacobs School of Music, is seeking an Academic Advisor to support students pursuing theatre, drama, and dance majors, minors, or certificates. The role focuses on advising, policy guidance, and career exploration in a hands-on campus setting.

The ideal candidate has a Master’s degree and 2+ years of relevant experience, with strong communication and organizational skills. Start date: 1/11/2027; in-person position on IU Bloomington campus.

Responsibilities

• Provides academic counseling for students pursuing or considering majors, minors, or certificates. Guides students in planning their course of study in concert with departmental requirements.
• Meets with students in groups and 1-on-1 to tailor academic programs to their needs.
• Represents the advising function at campus meetings and assists in creating advising materials.
