Job summary

Waco ISD in Waco, Texas is seeking a Theatre Arts teacher (exempt/contracted) to provide engaging learning experiences in the theatre subject area. The role reports to the campus principal and is aligned with district curriculum and TEA guidelines.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree with a valid Texas teaching certificate and knowledge of theatre education. Responsibilities include lesson planning, classroom management, assessment, and collaboration with staff and special education

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for subject and level assigned
• Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
• At least one year of student teaching or approved internship

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with district curriculum.
• Plan and use instructional strategies for diverse learning styles.
• Present subject matter per TEA guidelines and policies.
• Assess student learning and adjust instruction accordingly.
• Coordinate with special education staff for IEP accommodations.
• Supervise teacher aides and volunteers.
• Use technology to support teaching and learning.
• Communicate with parents and staff about student progress.
• Maintain classroom environment and behavior per policy.
• Attend faculty meetings and participate in committees.
