Student worker that will assist in the department in special projects and jobs as needed.

JOB SUMMARY

Student worker assists the Theater Manager with front-of-house operations, including pre-show duties, usher supervision, and serving as a primary point of contact for patrons during performances.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage front-of-house operations for all academic performances and second-stage events
  • Supervise and train ushers
  • Coordinate patrons seating, including late seating and accessibility needs
  • Address patron concerns and provide excellent customer service
  • Communicate with box office, stage management, and production staff
  • Enforce theater policies and safety procedures
  • Assist with house setup, cleanliness, and presentation
QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS
  • Liberty University Student
  • Federal Work Study Eligible
  • Experience in customer service
  • Theater and/or event management is beneficial
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations with professionalism
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and proactive
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and performance schedules

Work Environment

The working environment in which one will typically perform the essential functions of this position is a climate-controlled office setting or theater. It is well lighted and the noise level is moderate.

If the employee is required to travel in performing the duties and responsibilities of the position, the use of one’s personal vehicle (or LU vehicles) may be required for travel. Proof of a valid driver’s license, an acceptable DMV record, LU Driving Approval, and liability insurance is required when driving in the performance of the employee’s position.

Student employees are paid at least the current Virginia minimum wage per hour. Pay may vary by position and department based on job responsibilities, required skills, available funding, and market conditions.
