Job summary
Zach Theater in Austin, TX is seeking a Facilities Technician to oversee the repair and maintenance of our spaces and equipment, reporting to the Facilities Manager & General Manager. This full-time, on-site role supports the facilities team and Zach staff, including event setups and safety checks.
The position requires knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and preventative maintenance, with strong troubleshooting and tool skills.
Qualifications
- General understanding of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other mechanical systems.
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance practices and repair techniques for various building systems and equipment.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting abilities to quickly identify and resolve maintenance issues.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections of the facility, identifying issues and potential areas needing maintenance.
- Conduct repairs on building systems, such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and lighting.
- Maintain and repair facility equipment and fixtures.
- Monitor energy usage and suggest improvements to increase efficiency.
- Assist with setup and breakdown of events and relocations.
- Coordinate with external contractors for specialized repairs or installations.
