Description

Your Mission:
The Springs Resort and Spa is seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to support our kitchen team. This role is essential in keeping the kitchen running smoothly by maintaining cleanliness, assisting with food preparation, and ensuring that all equipment and utensils are ready for use. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy working behind the scenes, and take pride in keeping things organized, we’d love to have you on board!

Key Responsibilities:
  • Wash and sanitize dishes, pots, pans, and utensils.
  • Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including floors, surfaces, and equipment.
  • Properly dispose of waste and recycling materials.
Stock & Supply Management:
  • Unload and store kitchen deliveries efficiently.
  • Ensure kitchen supplies, such as cleaning products and dishware, are stocked.
  • Organize and maintain storage areas for easy access.
Basic Food Preparation:
  • Assist chefs with simple tasks like peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients.
  • Ensure ingredients are properly stored and labeled according to safety guidelines.
Health & Safety Compliance:
  • Follow all food hygiene and safety regulations at all times.
  • Report any maintenance issues or health hazards to the Head Chef or Kitchen Manager.
  • Handle cleaning chemicals safely and according to guidelines.
Requirements:

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Previous experience in a similar role is a plus but not required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene (training may be provided).
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Good physical stamina, with the ability to stand for long hours and lift heavy items.
Work Schedule & Environment:
  • Shifts may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Work is primarily in a kitchen setting, often in hot and humid conditions.
